Elohim: What Does the Word God Mean? [3 pages]
by Sean Finnegan rated at 2.7 (2 votes so far)
It may be shocking to learn that the word 'God' was much more flexible at the time of the writing of the Bible than it is today. In fact, Moses, Satan, and the Judges of Israel were all given the divine title, yet no one felt the need to construct philosophically nuanced redefinitions of who God is.
These books, written by people from diverse backgrounds, express the simple truth that God is one. Some of them are more scholary while others are more autobiographical. In addition, a few of them are available to read online. If you would like more in depth treatment of christian monotheism, these books are the next step to take.
